COVID-19 Level 2 & 3 Recommendations

August 14, 2020

Dear All, With the announcement yesterday that the country is to return to a higher Covid-19 Alert Level status than we have been able to enjoy in the past few months, we wish to re-issue our recommendations to clubs and players with regard to activity at bowling clubs. (See attached below) First and foremost, we wish to ensure that all club members remain safe and healthy. To this end we recommend that where clubs are under a Level 3 restriction (greater Auckland region – Wellsford to Pukekohe), clubrooms should remain closed and activity on greens be limited to practice alone or by players within an existing bubble and without mats or jacks. For the rest of the country, while under Alert Level 2 restrictions, we recommend reduced activity on greens, achieved through wider rinks (six rinks per green maximum), and that social distancing and a high standard of hygiene in the clubhouse and on the greens are practiced at all times. Regardless of the Alert Level you are operating within, if you are feeling unwell, please seek medical assistance and do not visit your bowling club. It is hoped that by remaining as vigilant as we were in March / April / May, we can all return to the relative security of Alert Level 1 in order to enjoy the upcoming season of bowls in the very near future. We will provide updates as and when necessary and, in the meantime, urge you to stay safe and keep connected. Kia kaha
